They told themselves it was only for a month...

Perrish, Florida was supposed to be just an eye-blink for Kaylee Walsh on her way to a glamorous new life in Miami-minus her sleazy ex-boyfriend. She’s not about to let a little car trouble or an empty wallet throw a monkey wrench into her plans. Not even when there’s a handsome mechanic on the other end of that wrench.

Rick Braddock knows better than to give a second glance to a woman with big-city dreams. But getting Kaylee back on the road means car repairs she can’t afford. So he offers a trade. His services for hers. As a babysitter and housekeeper, that is.

They tell themselves it’s only for a month. But as they settle into comfortably domestic days and intensely intimate nights, Rick realizes what a treasure he’s discovered in Kaylee. And for Kaylee, the lure of Miami is losing its shine.

Then Rick discovers a fortune in stolen gems hidden in her gas tank. Is Kaylee the woman he thought she was-or is she taking him for a ride?

Is he the real deal, or just another regret waiting to happen?

First on Hayley Christopher’s list to get her train-wreck life back on track: stay away from men. Especially the ones who cause a ripple effect of bad decisions.

Still reeling from a high-profile divorce, the college dropout and former pro cheerleader is stumbling through yet another challenge—temporary custody of her nephew, Fletcher. No one knows better than Hayley that she’s not mother material. When she opens the door to her new landlord and old flame, she wonders just how many more past mistakes she is destined to pay for.

After the death of his wife, Ray Braddock is still putting the pieces back together. Hayley—and the silent little boy at her side—both bristle with emotional barriers so high, it appears no one but him can see that together, three broken people just might make a whole family.

As she watches Fletcher respond to Ray’s patient care, Hayley’s determination to hold on to her heart begins to soften. But just when she begins to think that Ray is one opportunity she shouldn’t let slip by, Fletcher’s gang-connected father threatens to make her pay for the one good choice she ever made…

The Braddock Brotherhood Series of stand-alone contemporary romances continues with Book Three, The First Time Again, scheduled for eBook release in May 2013 from Samhain Publishing. The heroes are not all blood-related but are connected to each other through the heroines. Single dad Rick Braddock’s story began in A Month From Miami, followed by his twin brother Ray’s story of finding Hayley in A Forever Kind of Guy. I wanted to redeem Hayley’s ex-husband Trey and give him his own story in Book Three:

* * *

She wanted to give herself to him once. What happens when Trey meets Baylee for the first time again?

Fresh out of rehab, injured ex-pro quarterback and former small-town golden boy Trey Christopher seeks to redeem his tarnished reputation by returning to his hometown and starting over.

Baylee Westring was a good girl who did everything right. So how come she’s now broke, under-employed, divorced and still a virgin?

The last person she wants to work for is her high-school crush whose behavior during their one romantic encounter scarred her for life. But Trey has no memory of their past, he’s paying top dollar and she needs a job. If nothing else, Trey’s money can add to Baylee’s escape fund so she can leave the gossiping tongues of Henderson, North Carolina behind forever.

But before she leaves, Baylee’s going to make sure Trey finishes what he started in high school and rid her of her pesky virginity. Neither of them are prepared for the impact of that encounter. While Trey can’t believe how quickly Baylee got under his skin, she is shocked at the difference having him in her life makes and how he positively affects her family.

Just when Trey has Baylee convinced her own happily ever after is possible, an old enemy looking to even the score shakes her faith in Trey.

Will the first time again give them a second chance with each other?

Scarred by childhood abandonment, Amanda Heinrich is trapped by vows she made to her husband, Martin, her child and herself. Even after she meets her soulmate, Hart Michaelson, she sees no escape from the life she’s created.

While she fights her connection to Hart, her focus drifts from her marriage leaving Martin open to seduction by a woman Amanda considers a friend. Photographer Lyla Decker has an agenda all her own and a camera trained to do her dirty work.

When Hart is accused of murder, photographs surface to tell their own version of the truth: Martin was not the honorable man he was believed to be, nor does Hart and Amanda’s relationship appear at all innocent.

Every choice Amanda has made is cast in a sinister light and Hart’s freedom, as well as her own, hinges on her ability to expose a deranged killer’s secrets.

A camera captures scattered moments in time. Soulmates capture each other for life.

The Forbidden Bean

Grinding Reality Series
writing as A.J. Tillock

When lifelong misfit and coffee store manager Tee Rutledge investigates a hidden bag of coffee beans, she disregards the warning label and accidentally swallows one. Consumption of the bean temporarily transports most of her thinking, rational self into the body of an insect, but just enough of her is left behind to allow operation of her human body on auto-pilot. Her existence becomes wildly complicated because once she is whole again she has no memory of her behavior as a human during that time.

While Tee temporarily inhabits the body of a fly, a cockroach or a spider, she inadvertently flies under the radar of her fellow humans and unwittingly becomes privy to dangerous knowledge she otherwise would not have but which compels her unwillingly into heroic action.

Soon she is on the trail of a ragtag group of Eastern Europeans involved in gun-running and human trafficking; her long absent father walks back into her life to warn her away from pursuing them; and a serial killer feels the sting of her unique brand of justice.

Addicted to the magic beans but also teetering on the edge of sanity, Tee begins to embrace the power she discovers within herself as well as the undaunted courage of her superhero alter ego.
